About this policy
This policy explains how 字字岛 Wordkeepers (“the app”, “we”), an iPhone and iPad word game for children aged 6–10, handles information.
What we collect
Nothing. The app does not collect or send us any personal data. It has no sign-up and does not ask for a name, email address, birthday, photo, location or contacts. It does not use the microphone or camera.
What stays on the device
To keep your child’s place, the app saves its game data only on the device: stars, words and idiom found, badges, the My Island layout, where your child left off, the age level (Seedling or Explorer, not a birth date), language and sound settings, and the rest reminder. This data never comes to us; we have no server that receives it.
If you back up your device, this data may be included in that backup, which you control under your own Apple or computer settings.
What the app does not have
App
- No advertising of any kind.
- No third-party analytics or tracking.
- No chat or messaging.
- No accounts of our own.
Game Center
Game Center
Game Center is optional and off by default. Only a parent can turn it on, in the parent area. The whole game and all badges work without it.
Game Center is provided by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. When it is on, Apple handles the Game Center sign-in, and the app reports earned badges to Game Center as achievements. We do not receive this information on any server of ours. Turning Game Center off in the parent area stops new reports. Achievements already reported stay with Apple and are managed through your Apple account.
Game Center
Links outside the app
App
The only links that leave the app, to this policy and to our support page, sit in the parent area behind a parent gate.
Children’s privacy
The app is made for children, and we take that seriously. We are mindful of children’s privacy laws such as the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe a child’s personal data has reached us, for example in an email, contact us and we will delete it.
